I´m trying to cut in some expenses( great crisys here eheheh),so I´m trying to make my meals at home:D

but I have short patiente,so everithing must be simply and quick to prepare:)

today dinner :

2 slices of round beef (fried only with salt and a beat of olive oil)
125 grams of couscous ( cooked in a salted water, with a little of oil and a little butter)
200 grams of turnips greens- cooked in salted water
a sliced sweet orange

Seasoning- olive oil ( in the beef and in the cooked turnips greens) fine sliced garlic (turnips greens) some fresh green pepper( in the beef)

bread- old style mixed cereals baked in a furnace firewood ( so good)

drink- a dark beer :p( could have been a better choice)

It's the thought that counts :p

Well it's healthy-ish anyway. A good cheap meal is pitta's filled with salad and grilled chicken with home a made mayonaise and hot chilli sauce.

eheheh

rigth,the orange is my "invention"
normally we use it with fat meats like pork, or roasted babypig:D
because the acid & sweet of the orange "cuts" the fat of the skin of the babypig

but even with the beef is not too bad:D

When you say turnips greens do you mean the leaves from a turnip? I've never seen them eaten here, we normally have cabbage or broccoli or some such instead. Babypig = suckling pig btw :) You'll bring the vegementalists down on us if you say you eat a baby anything.

lolol

sorry for my poor english:D

yes sucklingpig not babypig eheheh( I´m not paedophille ,honest):D

and yes the green turnips are pretty much like the cabbage leaves:)

Erm, oh dear :)

But back on topic - that sounds quite good. I love some of the stuff my mom makes because she combines food types that sometimes wouldn't be seen here (we're Indian).

I mate

I only ate Indian food two times in my life:)

in one occasion,it was made by an old Indian lady, in Lisbon, and it was like sliced peaces of meat imersed in some kind of sauce

after I started eating it,I open my mouth wide open and grasp for some air:D
my mouth was on fire, I could not believe any food could "burn" like that:D

but it was very good, and after I grab some cups of water I finished it:D

That is such a random meal it's untrue - reminds me of that shrimp and strawberry random dish from that crazy French restaurant on Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares USA.
