Netduma R1 - Gaming Router

I'd have a lot of joy in seeing those hosts being blocked lol.

Might just order one for giggles to see if it does make a difference for me, I can always sell it if needed.

Let me know how you get on, i'd be amazed if you didn't notice a difference.

You on fibre? Will you be going from Modem > Netduma or Modem > Router > Netduma?

To get the best use out of it, congestion control etc. I'd do from modem > Netduma.

That's just me, I sold my Asus as I found the Wifi to be good enough also.

Anyone using this on VM? My ageing WRT54GS needs replacing and tbh not sure what to get past the Asus range - anything that improves gaming seems a big plus.

ps3ud0

Honestly, this is by far the best gaming gear i've bought in a long while. I had the Asus rt56u before hand.

They definitely don't have the advantage anymore! The hit detection is beautiful!

I'm based in the south-east, so my radius currently is at 450KM, so that reaches just to a bit of France (explains why I get the odd foreigner). Reason I have it like this, is i'm slowly decreasing it every few days to a smaller radius, to see how long it takes to find a game based on this.

It may seem silly, but i enjoy connecting to a game and seeing it on the interface, block hosts from France/Germany and Italy!

Suggests to me your sharing your internet with other people locally and now seeing the advantage of QoS in play - which you can do without a "gaming" router.

That wouldn't affect who it decides to host though. I don't share it with anyone, I had my router set up for gaming before hand.

Got mine yesterday. Setting it up was a breeze and it performs very very well. Now its time to get COD AW a go....

Lol, it's ridiculous in CoD I've won so many gun fights I wouldnt normally, so much rage after the kill.

Three burst weapons drop people in one burst, they don't even know what got them.

Yep, I'll be in the dog house for spending too much on 'gaming tat' instead of acting like I have tourettes every evening.

hmmm really tempted to get one just for fifa but im really sceptical how it can improve my performance as im the only one using the connection

I can see how range detection may help BUT I get lag vs people in UK so don't think that would help....

It really does work a treat on CoD and from what I am reading about how it reports who is host whilst gaming, then I was host for 90% of the games I played last night.

Now, if I can play and actually pay attention to the game instead of focusing on my laptop with the geo filter screen I might start going higher with kills, lol.

At one point there was 20 games that it found I would possibly have been put into, these ranged from the south of france to southern italy and into Russia.

I couldn't pin point exactly because we can't zoom the geo filter yet, but there was a lot of foreign hosts. I also checked the lobby after the games and there were foreign players in the lobby from spain/france etc but there was literally no BS deaths for me, the hit detection was spot on and when I died it was simply because I was shot from many angles/too slow to aim.

Next step is now to increase sensitivity.

From a brief few games last night I give this a massive thumbs up.
