Been away for quite awhile and now thinking about getting Netflix or A Prime, but with the changes etc,
I wanted to ask, which of the two would be the smarter choice (standard account) or if getting both would
be the better move.

TY in advance

I see the VOD side of Amazon prime as the gravy to the meat which is free delivery

Since they've rolled out the adverts I don't really watch much on there

which of the two would be the smarter choice
whichever of the 2 has the most shows you want to watch.

both are overpriced now and bunged full off crap you'll never watch. i've only kept amazon prime for the free shipping, otherwise it would have gone at the same time as netflix et al.

Still Netflix as my default, prime video is a bonus for normal prime, since they added adverts I no longer watch their shows on the TV and watch on the PC instead (no ads)

Amazon also have some films that anyone with a camera can upload to it, some really low budget films on it, some with interesting takes on stories that I enjoy. Some just utter dross.
But I can't stand Amazon from their really confusing UI, at least to me cant really tell what you get with Amazon prime anymore.

We have both, but the interface on Prime is badly mangled, hashed together and is quite simply the most painful to use that I have ever seen.

Personally, I feel this indicates they've all but given up on the idea that anyone would want to even attempt to explore the depth of their library and until they update and resolve those issues I will just stick with Netflix.

Amazon Prime primarily for the deliveries, then watch what you want on Netflix, cancel until the next show comes along and sub to D+, Apple TV or whatever other service has a show you want to watch, cancel when done and rinse repeat.

Sadly these days I go to the efforts of subscribing for a month, every few months, to watch what I want then cancel and move to the next platform. And now several platforms are putting in what are effectively ads, or stealth ads, even when you pay for the ad free tier... (personally doesn't bother me when it doesn't interrupt my viewing but that won't be how everyone sees it and far too often now it does interrupt like 30 second unskippable showreels of their content at the start).

Thanks! Going to go with Netflix.

I do miss the simpler times and sometimes wonder if I should just move out to somewhere away from all the noise and just enjoy nature, but that would most likely drive me up a wall (hmm)..
