Netflix episodes in the wrong order

I've just found my second series (Fringe, with Firefly being the first) where Netflix has the episodes in the wrong order. It has episode 11 from series 2 listed as episode 21 from series 1. It threw us off as the story seemed completely unconnected. I had to look up the episodes to spot the issue. Now I'm worried other stuff will be out of order :(.

Firefly had a few episodes in the wrong order too. I think it might be caused by the pilots not having an episode number in the online DBs, yet being listed as episode 1 on Netflix.

Anyway, rant over.

They probably have it as the aired order instead of DVD order. Fox screwed the show up by airing firefly out of order.

Even if the Fringe episode had been in the right order it wouldn't have made sense. I won't spoil it but you'll realise it when you get to that point.

Yeah firefly has atleast 3 different viewing orders :| (so not really netflix's fault) I thought there was a notation about it on netflix but I can't seem to see it checking now.

Another one is mythbusters - netflix's ordering seems completely at odds with the UK or US versions and quite random with some episodes appearing in completely different series to where they were actually filmed.

Is the Netflix order bad enough for me to instead look at watching Fringe through other means?

That episode belongs in season one. Shouldn't be the last one though.

Olivia is hot!! ;)

TVDB and Wikipedia list 'Unearthed' as S02E11, while Netflix has it as S01E21. Both those sources also list S01 as a 20 episode series, while Netflix lists S02 as an episode short.

It's neither really. They threw the episode together to fulfil the contract and was filmed after season 1 had aired, they were contracted for 21 episodes in season 1 but only made 20. The reason it became season 2 episode 11 is simply because of FOX being idiots.

I had a similar problem with BSG on Netflix. Season 4 I think it was. Came at a pivotal point and dropped an EPIC spoiler!

Wasn't impressed!

Somewhat amusing that the likes of PopcornTime can do this flawlessly for free, where Netflix coins a mint and still keeps on getting it wrong. :o

Where should it logically sit then? It doesn't work in the gap between season 1 and 2 as Olivia isn't about during that phase.

Edit: did some googling and it doesn't really fit anywhere. It was effectively an unaired season 1 episode and is listed with the special features on the DVD rather than an episode in any of the series. Is it important or can I just ignore it (we realised about 10 mins in and skipped it)?

It's pretty much totally stand alone so it could sit anywhere in the latter half of season 1 (although it's a really weak episode so you lose nothing by skipping it), the tv forum I last saw an argument about it on recommended it go around episode 10-12 of season 1 since all the second half of season 1 episodes are either important arc episodes or introduce something that goes on to be important later so it goes before them when the stand alone monster of the week starts giving way to arc stuff.

That Fringe episode was aired out of place originally on US TV. Can't remember the reason for it but I remember being confused at the time because it had someone who died in a previous episode being still alive in it.
