Netflix help

Soooo, picked up a shiny Acer XR34 and Netflix is being a dick about it.

Black border all around it. There's a few chrome extensions to fix it (Ultrawide Video 1.3.1 and Netflix Ultrawide Display Support 0.1.0), neither work for me on Netflix - but oddly work on Youtube as they should..
So basically at a loss -- anyone had any issues and found a fix?

Might be silly but are you sure the top/bottom borders aren't in the original video source?

Well, they ARE there, but that's the point of the plugins. If the borders weren't encoded in then they'd scale properly by default. The side borders are the extra horizontal pixels from my 21:9 ratio, the top and bottom borders are encoded in so it displays correctly on 16:9 resolutions - the plugins are designed to crop out the borders or zoom in or something (not sure how it's supposed to work
