Netflix/Hola Better Internet possibly hacked?

Also posted this in the thread for the Hola plugin, but figured it would be sensible to make a dedicated thread here as well.

My Netflix account was "hacked" recently and the email address/password used for my Netflix account made available online after installing the Hola plugin - perhaps a coincidence, but regardless I've uninstalled it and won't be using it again.

If you've used it, do a Google search for your email address in quotes and see if you get a result from a page titled "Premium Netflix Accounts" - I haven't clicked through to the page (not sure if it's secure), but the search result shows my email address and the correct password (which was only used for Netflix).

I also received an email this morning (sent to a huge list of people) from someone claiming their account was also hacked, and advising people to check their account and change their passwords. Again, no idea if this email was legit, but on the surface it appears to be.

So, just a heads up - probably worth checking!

Oh dear I figured out what happened to you.

Netflix and Hola either not been hacked so you had been scammed by email phishing.

I checked my emails saw no email with a huge list of people email addresses as Norton Security scanned emails for phishing emails and reported none.

I googled Netflix hacked found the last time people reported their Netflix accounts hacked was back in February 2015, the only way Netflix accounts hacked was clicked through phishing emails. You can recover your hacked Netflix account by contact Netflix support.

Guess you don't have good internet security installed to scan for Trojans when visits good websites and scan for phishing emails and websites links when log in email accounts. Just about every week I visited good websites like neowin, hardocp, techpowerup, wccftech, overclock.net etc but was surprised Norton reported blocked web viruses and Trojans from these sites, amazing how trusted sites was stealthy infected.

Try to remember never ever click very suspicious emails! If you not sure then you can move cursor to the links in email to reveal suspicious web addresses then you should delete these emails like I did all times.

Googled my email in quote came back nothing.

Unlikely to have been a phishing scam (I work in IT support/security, so very aware of not opening links in emails )

Have AVG installed (including LinkScanner) along with running regular scans with MBAM and HijackThis
