I7 8Gb RAM and its still stuttering, i'm guessing that its poor programming rather than hardware but if anyone knows a fix that would be great.

Using chrome if that's relevant.

Net flix reduces image quality dependent on how reliable your internet connection is, if theres a high ping/low bandwidth issues it will appear to stutter when infact its just reducing quality to compensate from your connection

Which browser?

It works at an acceptable level for me even at my parents house which has a 1mb connection, not hd but it's smooth as silk

Sorry to hijack but is Netflix any good? I'm considering it. In the beginning there wasn't a lot of choice but has it got better since?

I've just joined again, some pretty good stuff on at the mo. looked at sky's now tv service but its a lot more pricey than netflix is and your limited to two devices I think. I currently stream netflix through my PS3 and the quality is great. I'm on about 8mb here and it works well!

There's a lot more on it now than there was and if you go through quidco you get your first 3 months money back so worth a punt IMHO

Signed up for the free month. Looks pretty good to be fair. I sometimes spend nearly a fiver renting a film every couple of weeks anyway so £6 is a bit of a bargain even if they aren't bang up to date.

Yeah exactly my point too, watch a few films and you get your money's worth! I think in time it will get better. Maybe quicker than you think now there's competition from Sky etc...

Nowtv is worth a punt, IF you don't have sky films. If you have sky films utterly pointless. It's £15 but basically has what's on sky films +back catalogue.

Sports and tv series are meant to be added next year somepoint, which will make it even better.

If only these services offered streaming that's even comparable with decent 720p rips + Dolby Digital 5.1, but nope, last time I checked, streaming sucked and many TV Shows weren't even in HD, same with movies. I'm not even talking about 12 Mbps 1080p with lossless DTS audio here.

Well it is 1080p and Dolby digital plus.

So it is in HD.
Many tv shows weren't filmed in HD, so aren't streamed in HD. Stuff in netflix is generally old, but plent of stuff is in HD and does have 5.1 surround sound, if your hardware supports Dolby digital plus.

It's also £6 a month, which is insanely cheap. I wish they would triple the cost and get some newer/more stuff.

I don't know how things look like now, but shows that are available in HD in the US are still very low quality on Netflix.

You can have 1080p with low bitrate that will look worse than any decent 720p blu-ray rip, which was the case with Netflix and other streaming services last time I checked.
