I've just binge a few episodes of this after recognising Killer Mike from his Run The Jewels endeavours (Some really great rap music, check them out on spotify)

I thought this was a serious documentary at first, but it's not a normal documentary show. While it's not a full on comedy or mockumentary, and it does discuss some interesting racial issues still present in America today, it's got some very funny moments. The politically diverse super group he tries to form is absolutely hilarious :D

Wasn't one of his "revolutionary" ideas to tell youngsters not to vote in the presidential election?

I really like RTJ, I've seen them twice and they're great fun. But because of the above and a couple of other things he's done I'm not really sure if he deserves to be some sort of spokesperson. I dunno. I'll certainly watch this and see if he manages to change my mind.

Edit: Oh yeah -- he's an NRA member

I don't remember that part?

Most of his ideas in the show end up manufactured for comedy and narrative and are taking the ****. It's not really meant to be some revolutionary show with real ideas to be acted upon.

For example, the church he founded in the show is The Church of Sleep, the messiah is his mate called 'Sleep', because he always looks sleepy. They congregate at the local strip club for Church, take a nap and smoke weed as part of the service. It's not serious ;)

I haven't watched the show. In real life he urged kids not to vote, and he is a fully paid member of the NRA and has appeared in their propaganda. Kinda takes the edge off anything he does.
