Netflix UK Launch Ad Supported Plan and Give 720p to Basic Plan

I'd rather pay the extra £2 a month.

Some people don't care about ADs or care about 1080i and have only a 720p TV. :)

Also take note that "The ads plan also removes the ability to download content." so anyone wanting to watch on train or something with no data then you screwed.

Everything is better cheaper right? :p

4-5mins of ads per hour, no thank you. However i like the idea in theory.

The ads on my LG with the freebie films are almost obnoxious. Normal TV ads are tolerable and can be engaging and sometimes funny, so i don't mind them.

I'll probably just go with the £7 if i resub as i don't have any streaming service or tv sub currently.

No it was a sky add on last time I renewed. In fact i have just checked and its £5 per month not £4.99. Shrugs. Seemed like a good deal at the time. I think I just happen to get lucky and speak to the right Sky person.

They had mucked us around for 2 months trying to supply us FTTC as well but kept cancelling the engineer visits and eventually said they couldn't supply the internet side.

I get sky signature £14.00 per month
Sky HD - free
Sky Ultimate - £5 Netflix Premium (4 screens + UHD/HDR)
Sky UltraHD - Free
Multiscreen - £7.50

That's incredible really, no idea what signature is but assuming it's the default sky package.

I have prime which we barely watch, Netflix basic which we topped up to the non 4k version (basic was throwing from BT), now TV as that was thrown in with the BT fttp package, have a trial of discovery+ which I'm definitely not keeping at all and Disney plus which the kids love. There's too many of these sub packages

VPN is used to signup in another region, e.g. Turkey. Once a payment plan is setup disconnect the VPN and never needed again.
I think I'm 2+ years in to an unltimate sub, used all around the UK by my kids at Uni. Never any issues.

There is but I had amazon prime already just for the delivery (student rate) and i took out the disney plus for a year offer for £19 a few weeks ago plus I have youtube premium on 97p per month (mexico or argentina via VPN when started) and then recently with Currys got Apple TV free for 6 months. Plus got SOny Bravia Core (high res movies streamer in super high bandwidth - 80Mbps minimum needed, costs £5.99 per month i think normally) free for 12 months with my TV

So I current have

Sky all channels except movies and sports
Netflix Premium
Amazon prime
Youtube Premium
Disney Plus
Sony Bravia Core
Apple TV

All for £32.80 per month.

The only one I question on worth is the Sky one. Its really costing me £21.50 per month, if you ignore the netflix subs, so £258 per annum. Not sure I will renew when the 18 months are up. Unless they drop the price some more ;)

If we cant find anything to watch on all that then I give up!

Strokes my media server, whilst crossing fingers about continued use of a family account as a backup :p.

Netflix have completely lost the plot.

Check out their new upcoming account restrictions, absolutely insane

Seems reasonable still, in regards to account sharing i mean. Though i haven't used a streaming service in 6 months so price reductions is the only real way to get me on board for long term.

Yeah let's see how it fares especially for anyone using a vpn. Been pushing the wife to cancel Netflix for a while and this may be the final straw

So I commute for work and have a flat, with a TV and Firestick for streaming. Will this mean I'm supposed to now buy 2 Netflix subscriptions for home and work flat?

Seems that the not sharing rules (return to main wifi zone every month) are only for South America and will not apply to us...yet.
