Speed - not checked. Will do over the weekend.

Range - same room = 100%
- 15 metres (3 rooms diagionally = a wooden floor and two solid brick
walls) 65%
- 25 metres (garden = add the glass/metal/uPVC wall of the
conservatory) = 50%

Don't have anything to compare it with myself as it's my first set of WiFi kit.

Got your speeds yet ;)

I've tested The DG834N with both adapters and it works like a dream. Not quite 300Mbps but never connected below CAT5 speed. BIG range too, best on the market for home routers I'd say, having tested most of them.

Plus when the N specs are ratified next year you should just be able to flash the bios on this router and pump it up to 600Mbps which is what the expected speed for 802.11n is.

Now that, I didn't know.

Sorry ash7jar, been incredibly busy. First time I've caught my breath for over a week. My speeds are very similar to Varone's. As I said it's my first wi-fi kit but I'm really happy with it and the word was that it only needed a firmware update to become full "n" compatable. :)

Can any of you more knowlagable folk help me? I got this router with the bundled card yesterday. Yes very easy to set up. I have not used the card in the laptop yet. I got it to increase the signal to my Xbox 360. However the 360 obviously only sees the B and G signal so I had to set it to that. But the Xbox live signal still drops out. I hoped this router would give out a stronger signal.
Im not sure whether to keep it and accept that the lappy will work better on the "up tp 270" range or send it back :( Any thoughts? Im wondering if Im missing something in my setup.

Netgear routers are generally very good and i cant fault my rangemax router. The problem is to get the ramge you need to combine them with rangemax cards and they are useless. Theres nothing wrong with the hardware but the drivers constantly cause bsod's. Does it on laptop and desktop and is a really common thing. Ive tried other drivers and no luck but now using ekahau which has its own driver and utlity and so far that seems to work.

Yeh, the 360 doesn't support mimo, so will only do 54g, I presume you're using the usb adapter? You could get a mimo access point and connect that to the router via ethernet, but it probably won't be cheap. Try it with the laptop and see what you think tbh.
