Netgear 632 firmware problem

Hi all
Last night i was trying to update my firmware on my modem/router and my pc hung during the installation :eek:

now i can not connect to my setup page and my LAN port is saying 'little or no conectivity'
Have i managed to screw my router or can this be recovered?

Possibly but try a (few) resets using the button at the back and set the pc to obtain an Ip automatically. If you were using an IP range other than the default one flashing the router would restore it back to the default IP range and you'd have a similar problem.

Thanks i found the reset button last night but it didnt really help. I then thought i would try connecting through the usb rather than the lan port and it worked, which i found a bit strange as all i put in was my isp login name and password, not any of the other required info like static ip, gateway ip, dns ect???
I checked the lan port on my computer and its reporting as working properly until i connect it to the router.
Does the lan and the usb part of the router use different firmware as it seems strange that one should work and not the other :confused:

If you can connect by USB then it should be fully functional, have a look in the admin pages and check DHCP services are enabled and you PC is set up to obtain an IP automatically. It should then work with the lan ports.
