Im with UKFSN and have 8 static I.P's. I have set-up the static I.P for the router and statically assigned the Primary and Secondry DNS servers. But for some reason i cant find anywhere to set my Subnet.

I should be on 255.255.255.248 but its picking it up automatically as 255.255.255.255

In the settings it says this:

"If you have a fixed (or static IP) address, your ISP will have provided you with the required information. Select Use Static IP Address and type the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway IP Address into the correct fields.

For example:

* IP Address: 24.218.156.183
* Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
* Gateway IP Address: 24.218.156.1 "

Yet the only thing it shows is I.P address, which i have entered.

Im using firmware V3.01.25

the router is still in many-one (hence 255.255.255.255) nat mode. to enable you to set the subnet mask you need to change the adsl interface into non-nat (or route) mode.

im trying to find the instructions for this (because i cant quite remember where under the management console it is) but im not having much luck.

if i find anything i will come back and update this reply.

edit: looks a little more involved than just changing to non-nat mode as i think you will also have to setup additional firewall rules too. i think i have some similar kit at work, ill have a look tomorrow and see if i can setup what you want to do.

Ta mate,

I can turn off NAT but then i lose connection to the internet but dont get any additional options to add in subnet address etc.

no worries, as i said, i thought it was a little more complex than just turning nat off. i found a good article on the zen tech support forums talking about a similar problem but no-one posted a how-to :grrr: ill try and sort something out for you tomorrow in my lunch hour. cheers.

Check which firmware version you have and do a little research on the net as some versions have only worked properly in NAT mode.
