Hiya's,

Still learning this ADSL syuff so bear with me lol

Just swapped my o2 780wl to the dg834gt

I ran the cd and went to Install assistant and sorted basic stuff there

Ended up going to Settings, Set the Basic Settings and ADSL Settings

Now online :)

Problem, I downloaded DMT Tool 8.0.7 (latest anyways) , Now when i click on dmt i choose english with no sound

I put in admin as user and password for password as per instructions i read somewhere, Now when i click connect on dmt tool the Port which is 23 as Default flashes red and dmt tool does nothing

New to routers and ADSL, So is it the default firewall settings or somert that's stopping dmt from working or am i way off ??

Need help/advice that's for sure :D

Any replies much appreciated :)

Many Thanks

ps: on o2 is it matters with a static IP

Two things possible:

You need to enable telnet in the router.

Your username/pass combination is incorrect. Does it work when you go to the router's config page?

Hiya,

Ok, i Found a link on Kitz for that debug option, Clicked it and page said debug enable !

Ohh the default ip was wrong, It was loading as i started dmt up as 192.168.1.1

Made it 192.168.0.1 and now it's working :)

Now as for that DGTeam firmware, That sounds neat :)

I have flashed plenty of mobo's and also bios flashed some of my gfx cards

Is it easy to do this firmware stuff for this GT ???

Many Thanks for Reply, At least i can now see in DMT tool

Will google for that firmware ;)

Hiya's,

Came across a small problem, Which firmware to use ?? choice seems to be DGteam or UberGT

I am on o2 Home Premium now (getting faster speed on testing this GT, hope it stays like this lol) and a static IP if it matters

Anyone wanna chime in as which firmware to go with ??

Many Thanks

The GT is far better for o2 and Be than the bebox. Well, a fair bit better anyhow. It should stay that way :)

The DGTeam firmware is still being developed, whereas the UberGT one hasn't been in development for some time. For that reason, I choose (you) DGTeam (pikachu) firmware.

Hiya,

Ok, Just did a standard firmware upgrade, Went fine (well i still online lol)

Gonna try that DGTeam firmware then :)

Many Thanks (Again he he)

Good luck :)

The DGTeam firmware is quite a bit nicer to use than the standard Netgear one. And a bit better than the UberGT one too. Definitely happy I went for it.

Well i now have V1.02.09 - DGTeam Rev. 0743

Hope that's latest one ?

Well gonna get stuck in and have a good look at settings

Thankyou Very Much Aekeron :) For helping a noob

I would try and post a pic but now DMT tool's not working lol

Sheesh

Checked settings that i had used to get up n running and they're still the same as before when DMT finally worked

If i uncheck DMT option for Special Login i get the login/pw boxes now lighting up red lol

Ohh crikey

Off to google again lmao

Cheers :)

I dunno, Sometimes i can't see the woods for the trees :(

With the DGTeam firmware

Login = root
PW = password

No need to check the special login now

Ok will post back when i figured the dmt snapshot gizmo

Here you go,

Need anything else i'll be glad to upload if it helps me and others out :)

(if this pic's too large tell me and i'll find how to shrink it)

Ok or not ?

Max i got with o2 780wl was 10066 i think, so a bit more than this with my new GT :)

It's a decent speed for that attenuation. You could probably try tweaking your target SNR down a bit (say to 80% in the DGTeam firmware), but that might cause instability. If it works tho, you should hit 12 mbit easily.

Hiya,

Woohoo, Keep sugestions like this coming :)

Will post back report asap ;)

Must say the attenuation varies from 36 to 40 !!!! lol

Maybe because all my line is new from the ground external box to my home ?

Many Thanks

I'm leaving work now so I'm afraid I won't be about much until tomorrow.

You could also ask Be/o2 to enable fastpath on your line. Once again, with those stats it may cause instability or a loss in speed (but you can always get it set back to interleaving) - sometimes it can increase speed though.

Left Netgear setting at 80% (dunno if this has a bearing on next pic) but with DMT i dropped the slider down to 50% here's results ......

It's gone up speed-wise he he

Many thanks again :)

Don't work too hard ;)
