Hi all,

Looks like I might have bricked my router. I was updating the firmware for it to the latest one to see if it helped with my adsl2+ speeds, it asked to be reset which I did.

The power light is on, the test tick flashes orange a few times and then goes off. All I am left with then is the power light and the LAN light for the pc connecte3d to it.

I can't connect to the router using the IP, Netgear recovery tool just errors out.

Not sure what else to try as it doesn't even seem to want to do a factory reset.

Any ideas?

Was it the dgteam firmware? anything over 1018 was known to brick the router
have you tried Power cycling with the reset button pressed ?
Try reflashing via linux,i fixed my bricked dg834gt using this, was a pain for me though :(

Yes it was the dgteam one, i've tried all sorts but no luck.

I've been and purchased a Netgear N150 now from OCUK. I'll have a play with the netgear with Linux and see if I can reflash it but everything I've read indicates jtag cables etc and it all sounds more complicated than it's worth :p

I don't think the IP would effect it as it just doesn't connect to anything. I've either got just the power light and the "1" lan light on, or I can get it alternating between flashing between the power and the test light. Nothing else seems to work.

I might fire an email over the netgear, see what they advise.

That sounds like the same issue i had with mine, can`t find the tut i used to help me flash mine, but it was got off the net(think it was on dgteams wesite but they are long gone now) so good luck finding it,i had trouble typing all the right cmds as i could not get copy/paste to work in linux, when i eventually got them all right it flashed fine
edit
i think the linux tool i used was called NFTP
