I just reset my netgear router that came with my broadband package a few months back, and my wireless devices can find and pick up the network but whenever i try to connect to it, it asks for a password!! So now im using my phone to type this as i cannot get into my own router! does anyone know if there is a defualt password? The model of the router is netgear VMDG210.

Thanks :(

try this.

Username: admin
password: password

this is or certainly has been the default for Netgear hardware for a long time

Hope this helps you.

Log into the router (usually by going to http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1) using the details above and go to the wireless section, it should have the password in the box there. As it is supplied by the ISP, the wireless password maybe on the sticker underneath?

Connect via ethernet cable then login to the router with Username: admin
password: password then you can check the wireless settings

Thanks for all the replies, I finally got it to work by connection via ethernet and also found out that netgears default wireless password is a load of random letters and numbers!!
Thanks again guys :)
