Netgear FM114P router not working / broken
Hi,
Last night my Netgear ProSafe Wireless Firewall/Printer Server FM114P router wasn't working properly on the network (websites wouldn't load) so I tried the common sense of switching it off and turning it back on....
On doing so the PWR, TEST, ALERT, ACT and WLAN LED lights won't turn off.
Normally they'd flash on and off during boot testing and then some would stay on and TEST would stay off, but not now.
On plugging any ethernet cable in, the corresponding port number LED that its plugged into begins to flash on........ off......... on......... off.......
I checked the manual which stated to contact Tech Support when the TEST LED is lit on continuosly and did but it turns out my warranty ran out on Nov 2006... Less than 2 months ago!!!
I tried phoning and the American lady on the phone was polite and said that as it was a 'buisness product', Netgear wouldn't repair it for any cost as it was outside the warranty period.
I thought Netgear were good but after this I'm not quite sure.
I've submitted the query to their online tech support to see what they say.
Any ideas what I can do besides use it as an expensive coaster/bookstand/hotplate mat/weapon/door stop?
