Netgear or Linksys router?

I'm torn between the following:-

Linksys WAG160N

Netgear DG834N

I currently have a Netgear DG834PN which is giving up the ghost.

I'm not a fan of Belkin so haven't considered them.

Both seem to have good reviews, but i've read about some issues with port forwarding on the Linksys? Also, I don't think there is currently any third party firmware for the Linksys so is the existing firmware okay?

Any help greatly appreciated

You can get OpenWRT/Tomato/DD-WRT for the Linksys routers.

Check dd-wrt.com for a compatibility list

Doesn't apply to ADSL modem/routers like the WAG160N gillywibble is considering.

the above mentioned ones don't but you can still get custom firmware for them.

I've just bought the WAG160N with the appropriate wireless-N USB adaptor and so far I've got to say I'm well impressed!!

The interface and software you get with it is easy enough to use and the connection so far is loads better than my Linksys WAG54GS!!!
