Around one week ago my wireless internet kept getting slower until eventually it disconnected me from my network. I tried to connect back to my network through the netgear smart wizard but it would not do anything.

I then went to re install the software from the CD for the USB adapter WN111v2, but when it came to putting in the USB it would not recognize it. It would be there on the device manager and I have tried installing it on other computers and it did work.

Then i did a system restore the adapter is now working but only automatically connected to a unsecured network which is not mine, the problem now is that whenever i try and open the netgear smart wizard it will not open.

Anyone know what is going on?
 
Might be worth downloading a newer version of the software for the USB dongle.

You have to uninstall the old driver before installing this.

Also is the device connected to the rear USB ports that are located by the onboard audio and LAN network connection? To rule out lack of power getting to the device.
