I have just got the above router but getting a rubbish signal to my computer in my bedroom on the same floor.

I have a D-Link Wireless N usb adapter, is there a better adapter I should look at getting to improve signal?

I would recommend installing dd-wrt on the 3700.

it could however be your usb drive adaptor.

have you tried new drivers.

Also find out what chipset the usb wifi is, and try the generic wifi drivers for that manufacture. ie atheros etc

DD-WRT currently has major performance problems with wifi on the 3700, so I certainly wouldn't recommend that.

I'm using a Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N USB on this desktop which is downstairs in the living room, with the 3700 upstairs.

I get 82% strength signal and usually full 300mbps connection speed, though occasionally drops as low as 216mbps.

Make sure you are using 2.4ghz wireless N and not the 5ghz only as 5ghz still has range problems.

I might get the netgear usb adapter then. I am getting "very Poor" signal strength and that's with the router on the same floor and about 1.5 Metres away on the same floor.
