Netgear router lag problem

When playing COD 4 with a wireless netgear router every few minutes it will freeze and then everything will be in a different place as if major lag has taken place is there a fix for this?

Yes - Connect an ethernet cable

Seriously though - at least if you can do that it will allow you to confirm if its definately the wireless thats causing your lag.

It works fine with a 20m Ethernet cable

But that is sort of pointless as its supposed to be a wireless router

Set your wireless card to only connect at a set speed (and something low, e.g. only connect at 8mbit or something). It sounds like the wireless is dropping out/changing speed and that's where your lag spike hits.

Other things you could do is try to improve the wireless signal with a directional antenna or some such.
