Netgear wireless router configured!? but no internet access

I have a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and it is directly connected into my desktop computer and is working perfectly fine.

My brother sits at the top of the house and uses a WG111T wireless USB adaptor to connect. However, he recently formatted his computer so i installed the relative software to help him reconnect.

I believe i have configured it correctly in the router and on his computer using the SSID, WEP and passphrase. His computer even recognises the connection and indicates that its connected.

However, i can't get a connection to the web using internet explorer and i can't connect to the router using the default 192.168.0.1 from his machine.

One thing that i have noticed is that he isn't listed under the attached devices in the router!!!

Does anyone have any ideas on whats wrong?

Thanks for the reply but i still can't get connected.

Whenever i try to repair the connection it says that it has limited or no connectivity with a pad lock beside the network icon.

During the repair process it fails because it says that renewing your IP adress could not be completed.

Do i have to set up a static IP address for my wireless to connect via my router?
