I have just bought a Netgear WNCE2001 wireless ethernet adapter to connect a machine upstairs to my BT Home Hub 3. I can get onto the internet without a problem but I cannot connect to the machine plugged into the WNCE2001 from other devices on the network unless I specify the IP address.
Checking the home hub configuration screen and things get even more strange. Under the devices list, I can see the WNCE2001 listed but the machine that is plugged into doesnt appear to exist according to the home hub which I guess explains why the device can only be accessed by IP.
If I run the network map on the machine plugged into the device it locates the home hub and internet but places all other machines on the network at the bottom of the screen. Has anyone else encountered this before or have any ideas as to why it might be doing this as its proving to be a problem as I cannot access the shared printer on the device.
