I have had mine for 2~ weeks now, updated firmware and all fine. Gigabit speed is what you'd expect from such a router and N speeds are also great with multiple clients both on G and N.
The USB sharing works great, plug in a USB drive and it is instantly shared to the network as \\readyshare (or \\usb as I have it). You can also set up permissions and so on to control access to it.
It also looks very sleek compared to other routers
The LED indicators are the best I've seen on a routerm from a distance you can easily tell what is connected and at what speed.
- Individual 2.4GHz and 5GHz LEDs (blue/green)
- Orange LAN LED = 100Mbps
- Green LAN LED = 1Gbps
It's pretty solid and you won't find another router with the same specs (680MHz CPU, 64MB ram) in the £150 range.
I have had the DIR-655 which was fine for several months but then started disconnecting every few days on newer firmwares - seems a few people at the time reported such issues on various forums with newer firmware. It also didn't play ball with some of my G clients when using WPA2-AES.
I also had the Sitecom WL308XR which is a Gigabit N router but it died 2 weeks ago, I am going to pick up the replacement today and sell it on MM most likely, these things come with 10year warranty! - great router but I CBA installing it as i have the WNDR3700 now.
You're welcome to make me an offer on it if you like, it will save you £50 at least!
If you do get the WNDR though it's worth noting DDWRT is in the works to support it. They already support the WNDR3300.
