there are 3 people on a network and i want to set up the 2 of them can see all the shared folders, but the last person can only see and access one shared folder

how would i go about stopping the last person having access to the other shared folders ?

Ok, how do the users access the shared folders?

Easiest way for this would be to setup permissions on the folders appropriately and then map a couple of network drives to whoever needs what.

You will need to create each user on each pc if you havent done so already.

at the moment, they are just shared folder on one pc and everyone sees them

just need to stop one pc from going to ALL the folders and just have access to one folder

where does one create user permisions?

and thank you for your help

edit

its windows xp btw

right click on the "shared folder" on the appropriate computer and then go to the security tab, if you don't see the security tab then you'll need to disable simple file sharing, to do that go to my computer, tools > folder options > view > scroll to bottom of list and untick the box.
