Recently I have been struggling with spotty wifi connections, this has only started as of recent and already ruled out my wifi, after a bit of research I came to the conclusion that it had to do with either my Network adapter or my Ethernet Connection, I found when I went to look at whether my network Ethernet adapter needed an update it had a yellow triangle over it, people suggested uninstalling and restarting my PC to fix it but sound still the issue persisted even after working for a bit. Even now I’m still confused and wonder if there’s any troubleshooting or advice anyone could give please?

Are you connecting by ethernet or wi-fi?

Have you tried going to the support page for your motherboard and manually downloading and installing the wif-fi and/or ethernet drivers?

I’m currently connected through Ethernet from a Wifi Extender, also thank you for the suggestion I will begin to have a look at the support page for my Motherboard

Sounds more like a problem with the wireless side of the wireless extender. If the wireless connection between that and your router is poor then that would show the limited connectivity warning triangle.

or you could maybe try forcing a windows update, and be sure to check the 'optional updates' to see if theres a network driver mentioned in there.
I’ve had a look towards windows updated for my drivers but finding none I’ve also realised it’s blanked out the option to roll them back too which is annoying

I mean I tend to still get the same speeds I would if I was next to the router, but the extender is quite old if I’m being honest so it could be that

It's confusing what the actual problem is. Don't assume anything or rule things in or out just yet, just explain:
  1. Your configuration, as I understand it you're connected via ethernet to a Wi-Fi extender, which is presumably extending your router. Is that correct? Do you always use this arrangement? Does the computer you have also have wireless built in?
  2. You say the Wi-FI connection is spotty, what does that mean precisely? Your internet is slower than normal? You get disconnected from the internet? Is the problem intermittent and come/go or is it steady most of the time?
  3. When you hover over the error icon in windows does it give a tooltip of what the error is? Or if you click the tray icon does open up a settings panel that further elaborates on the error, what does it say exactly?

Wifi extenders are poor at best. Either run ethernet to your PC or run ethernet to a wireless access point from your router/switch to near your PC.

With an ethernet connection or decent wifi, you won't ever get disconnections.
