I've just moved house and will be unable to get a cable to my pc so will need a decent wireless adapter for my desktop. As I've never needed one of these before I have no idea where to start, what are the good brands etc..

Any thoughts?

i have a usb adapter a netgear wn111 and they didn't make windows xp 64bit drivers so the thing is useless and netgear refuse to make drivers for it, says that it is an outdated OS and that i should shut up. so don't buy netgear, **** em.

the pci wireless one you linked to is better than usb. fairly cheap as well, might consider that for myself. :D

not sure what wireless chipset it uses, but that would only realy be a consideration if you use linux. might check if they have windows xp 64bit drivers for it.

I have just upgraded to an i5 with windows 7 and I am having no end of trouble with my Netgear WN111 card. It used to work with my old machine + windows 7 and I cant understand why its not working?!

I have always found that USB dongles work better than PCI cards so I have ordered the OcUK Value 300Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter.

What router do you have dmx07?

great wireless adapter i currently use with my DGND3300v2 is a WNDA3100 its a dualband N wireless usb2 adapter from netgear.
