network adaptor keeps turning off

hi guys,
ever since moving over to win7 my network adaptor is doing annoying strange things.
it was never a problem with vista!

so every couple of days if not sooner i go to connect to internet and cant, at first i thought it was the service provider so when i phoned sky and tested and we discovered it was the network adaptor.

the only way to get internet is to disable it and then enable.

any ideas how or why

motherboard is: asus p5q pro with atheros adaptor
os: win7
with sky internet

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for the adapter? They should be available from Asus website.

My girlfriend had a similiar problem with here ASUS P5 board (cant remember the exact model but it was a atheros NIC IIRC) new drivers fixed the problem.

Got a fix for you, In control panel - device manager find teh NIC in question, in teh advanced panel of it's proeprties, disable 'TaskOffload'
