Hi all, I'm currently running a dual boot system - XP & windows 7.
My old belkin network adaptor wouldnt work with windows 7 so I bought a new one ( getnet GN 621U ) which is supposed to work with windows 7 according to one website but it doesnt actually say it's W7 compatible on the box
( didnt realise this until I got it )
Ok I've tried the adaptor in XP and it works fine so the adaptor must be ok right.
I try the adaptor in W7, windows says the device has been installed successfully, I can see my router in the available connections so I'm assuming that this adaptor is OK to use with windows 7 but when I try to connect to just keeps saying ' unable to connect to this network '
I've checked and double checked I'm using the correct password - nothing.
I phone O2 broadband and go through everything with them & still no luck, I asked them if my router is compatble with W7 and it is.
I've checked for anything not working in device manager but everything is OK.
The only thing is might be but I very much doubt it is that my windows 7 needs validating now, could that stop the connection between my router & PC - I know it's a long shot but I've not got a clue what else the problem could be.
One other thing - if I unplug the adaptor in windows 7 the PC goes to BSOD immediately // if I unplug the adpator in XP PC behaves normally - I kind of guess I've answered my own question here - ADAPTOR IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 7 - but then again why would it be able to detect my router - er strange one this.
Which means I've now got to get another adaptor......AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHH
If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them
