Network Audit Tool

Hi all,

Do you any of you know of a Network Audit Tool that I can install on my laptop and take to client sites and collate information spec's etc about the nodes on the network?

There is some freeware software that i've come across but it's not very good and limited to what it can collect.

How is it limited? what doesn't it collect? What's it called? Have you got a link?

what kind of network info do you need ?

Mainly hardware and software installed on each PC, it's name, it's model, it's ip address etc...
