Slight problem with this... I've connected my TV to my PC with an ethernet cable so that I can use the online features. It works but when I turn off my TV I lose connection on my PC and I have to reset the bridge.

Any suggestions guys? I'm no expert lol...

Well, my router is downstairs so that's a no go. I thought I could simply connect my TV to my PC using an ethernet cable and then bridge the two in network connections (otherwise it didn't work)^

Riiiight.

I never thought about some kind of switch. Just had a quick look at what they are and will get one! Thanks.

When you’re talking about bridging I assume your PC has more than one network port and you’re bridging them using Windows? It should be possible to get it working, but you’ll need to supply full details about how you configured it.

Yeah. I have one port on the motherboard and another Realtek card for some reason. I then connected one to my TV and highlighted both in network connections and clicked on the bridge. Didn't really configure anything else lol o.0
