Hi all i have a network cable run of about 30m which has a cat6 cable ran it at the moment. It will only connect at 100mbit i have tried different devices and tried a cable tester which is showing all pairs / cables working. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi im not sure it is very good quality honestly. Its a pre-terminated cable so the connectors dont really show you much.

Its connecting a N55u router (has gigabit ports) to a gigabit switch upstairs. It does run close to some power cables could they be the issue?

Thanks.

Hi Mr Pink. Its a completely un-managed switch so unfortunately i cannot manually set it at all.

I did try plugging it into my computer rather than into the switch. The computers network card light did not come on for about 20 seconds then it connected at 100mbit. I can only guess it was trying to connect at gig an failed.

Hi thanks for the reply's. I have a crimp tool that i got with my cable tester, i used it on the connectors even though they were already crimped / sealed. It seems to have done the job! have a gig connection now! :)
