Network cable testing tools?

Currently we call in an external company to verify our cabling after we've installed it.

Looking into options of getting our own tool.

The guy that does the testing has a Fluke dtx 1800, seems awesome, but at £10,000, it's a bit on the steep side.

Beyond a £10 tester, what other decent options are there?

If you don't need to use it too often weekly rental could make sense.
