hello all
here is my problem
i have dual boot system xp and vista 64
the usb modem i have 105voyager will only work on xp
i got a new router, sweex is the make
plugged it in works fine for 3days then sync drops to 105 down and 434up !!
took it back to the shop, man tested for 2days no probs. in the meantime im back on the 105voyager with no drops
i take the router back works for 2 days and same again
the mobo im using is asus m2n sli, ive done abit of goooogleing and theree does seem to be issues with onboard networking with this mobo
so
i go back to shop and buy a leadtek network card
boots ok in vista, but when i try xp it just reboots just before im about to log in. there is a message on a blue screen but cant read it as the reboot kicks in before i get chance ( real fast )
i have disabled the ob lan / network via bios to do this, but as soon as i enable it all again it boots in xp no probs but doesnt find te new network card ( nor in vista )
hmmmmmmm
any ideas ?
i dont know what card it is sorry as its a spare one he had flying round workshop, he assures me it works, i take his word as i go there all the time and will not be a prob to take it back
i just want to get on the net with vista !!!!! its been too long now lol
any ideas please guys and girls !
thanks:rolleyes:

So, the problem is that the system won't boot with the Leadtek card installed unless you disable the onboard network adapter, in which case the Leadtek card isn't recognised, correct?

it will boot with vista, but its not recognised
and wont boot with xp at all
when the onboard is disabled xp wont boot, enabled it does but doest recoginse card

Maybe try taking a photo of the blue screen and post the msg here so people can help?

Are you able to try the card in a different PC to check that the card really does work?
