Hi guys,

This started happening about 2 weeks ago and to be honest it's not that annoying as I normally switch my PC on and go make a brew or something but there's occasions when I need it ASAP so this bug is annoying me.

Basically after turning on the PC and Windows has booted up the network card takes 3/4 minutes to connect to the router, I looked on the back and it's passing traffic there just seems a delay in it getting internet access.

Is there a service that is delaying it?

Why would it just start happening?

Cheers

I get this  but only after the PC has been to sleep; it's fine when you switch it on from off. Doing my head in and I'm about to buy a new wireless card to see if that fixes it.

Dynamic :o. Should have said 'was about to buy a new wireless card until I saw your reply' :p.

I'll give the static IP thing a go and see if that fixes it. Just weird as I have a modern Asus router and TP-LINK network card so not sure why DHCP would be a problem.

Setting a static IP isn't a fix, it's a workaround at best. It might not even be an issue relating to DHCP.

OP: Have you had a Windows Update recently that's updated your network card driver? Might be worth rolling back to see if it helps.

I'm guessing incompatibility between network card and router now. I've tried most other things. My phone never has this problem and neither do either of our laptops.
