Network comms cabinet in garage?

I have a small cabinet to install and was wondering if it would be ok to install in the garage? It gets pretty cold in there obviously but I have a pitched roof on my garage so there is potential to board it and put my network stuff up there. It would only be a couple of switches and a few other things (no server) but it would mean my CCTV could route back to here which would make things very simple to install.

I know people that have put small micro servers in garages so that they are out the way and don't make any noise in the house. Can be connected via network cable or Powerline depending on the situation. As long as it is dry in there. just remember to give them a clean out every now and then.

Might be worth taping up small gaps and putting tights or something like that over the vents as a bug filter

I've got a PC running as a NAS 24/7 in my garage without any issues. Gets the heat out of the house in the summer. Just keep it cleaned out every few months.

Thanks for the advice, will get the comms cabinet installed up in the rafters out of the way.

I've had a PC, NAS box, UPS, and a switch sitting in my garage for years and it's fine. It gets a bit dusty in there too.

Switches are fine. There are more than a few hospitals with them in their plant rooms on the roof, which makes for fun patching!
