hi

started having an issue where my network connection drops for 5 seconds or so. it happens sometimes multiple times in a few minutes, other times it doesnt happen for a night.

Looking in event viewer i have this mesage every time it does it:

"Name resolution for the name wpad timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. Client PID 26660"

i have googled and think i have tried every solution i can find with no success.

for some reason if i open cmd and endless ping google it seems to not happen as much

i am on windows 11.

Who is your ISP?
What networking equipment do you have?
How are you connected from your pc to your router?
Can you ping your router?
Do you use any VPN etc?
Which motherboard or network card do you have?

Virgin 1gig with hub 4
Using onboard msi x570 tomahawk lan
Have tried a network card also

Wired connection

Can ping router
No vpn

Everything works fine I just get disconnected at random for 5 seconds or so then all connects back up and is normal again. It's enough to get my does I'm games.

Doesn't matter if wired or wireless connection, have tried different network cables.

might sound daft have you rebooted the SH 4 - I am aware of various issues with these Virgin SH

i was rebooting it daily at one point, not sorted.

i have a feeling it may be the hub but virgin wont send me new, my contracts up in a month, going to try sky fibre instead.

Would be a shame if something happened to the hub.......

But try this first.
