Network Connections

I recently had to do a fresh/clean install of XP due to a problem with the PC. I am currently with Tesco BB and reinstalled the Speedtouch modem. In network connections it shows the Tesco BB icon as connected which is fine.

In the LAN or High-Speed Internet area it shows 1394 connection as Connected. I just connect the one PC to Tesco BB and I don't have any kind of Networks set-up. My question is should 1394 connection be connected?

Just want to make sure that nothing is connected that shouldn't be connected.

1394's your firewire ports.

Thanks but having no idea what Firewire ports are should I leave 1394 connected?

Wikipedia to the rescue.

They're physical ports on your machine that you can use for networking...
