I have a strange problem.
When downloading from Steam, my laptop becomes very sluggish and hangs every 30 seconds, for about 5 seconds, and when it comes back does a low beep. This is I assume something to do with the CPU. This started after not using my laptop for a couple of weeks.
I originally thought it was a driver or even physical problem but now I guess there could have been a steam update that made this happen, because I hadn't changed my drivers or anything since I got my laptop. I've now done a clean install and installed the standard wlan drivers and it still does it.
I am currently downloading a 2GB file in Chrome and it is fine. When I connect over wired LAN and use steam, it runs fine.
Has anyone else had problems like this? Do you think it is a Steam issues or a My Laptop issue?
Edit- Laptop specs:
i7 3740QM 2.7-3.4GHz (light internet use = 50c)
8GB DDR3
Nvidia GT650M (light use = 40c)
Samsung 830SSD (SSDLife "excellent health")
Realtek RTL8188CE "Combo PCI-E NIC"
