When my machine wakes up from suspend, I have to disable and re-enabled my network adapter in order to get any connectivity. Has anyone else heard of this, and is there an easy fix? I suppose I could write a script to to it if it came to it.

Sounds like a driver issue to me.. you may wish to google for an answer with the exact make/model of the ethernet controller (or motherboard chipset if it's integrated) and OS you are currently running.

The first step is trying to get the latest drivers if you haven't already...

I've been having this for ages..I'm using wireless.

Until I installed Windows 7.....but I also went to power management in the control panel and set network card to not be powered off along with the rest of the PC when going to standby.

I've got a Netgear 834GT and corresponding PCI Network card...seems to be an issue on the Netgear forums....but not sure if other makes are affected as well.
