Network drive not refreshing.

I have 2 machines both running Windows 7 64 Bit.

My main machine and my storage box.

if something is downloaded directly to my storage box and then I look at the drive via the network from my main machine the new content does not show up.

This happens whether the drive is mapped or not

In order to see the new content I have to rename an existing file on the storage box and then hit F5 a few times and eventually the changes will show up.

I have never encountered this kind of problem before in many years of running windows and I have not been able to figure it out.

Hmm this is a strange one, do you have any sort of antivirus/software that may be scanning files before they are made public on the drive?

Nope nothing like that I even removed the anti-virus to be sure, one of the first things I checked actually.

Firewall is in the router and does not effect internal traffic.
