Hi Guys

lately I have been having a probably with my network randomly dropping its network.

it will give an exclamation on my network monitor and drop my internet connection, this is how I know it has happened.

if I think ping my router, I get no response i.e it cannot even find the router.

if I do an ipconfig /all then my IP is still available.

I have tried DHCP and static with no resolve when this happens.

I have had a different router, so it is not that.

I have looked in event viewer when this happens and I get the following errors

The browser has forced an election on network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{EDEA69BF-D58F-4E34-9D8B-16E7342A6835} because a master browser was stopped.

Name resolution for the name heartbeat.dm.origin.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

I have tried the net view command when that happened and it shown only my PC in the lan and it was the master browser

I have since disabled the computer browser but it still dropped me from the network with the dns error above but not the master browser one.

I should add that all my wireless devices work, and my network does to for example my xbox works when this happens.

I would say it might be something to do with windows 8 or something funky on my PC.

I have disabled most things on startup, including some vm workstation software

I should add, all I need to do is disable and enable the network card and it is back working until it happens again and it can be 5 minutes later or hours

I have just swapped it now with my xbox one. and a different port on the wall...

yes from realtek

this wireshark log

125982 287.654622000 192.168.2.89 192.168.2.255 NBNS 92 Name query NB HP46D2B1<00>

does that mean it is looking for a hostname HP46D2B1

if that is the case only thing I have that is HP on the network is my switch or an old printer that has not been on the network for months

next think I will try is to bypass the network switch and patch directly into the home hub. (but I will test this cable and port change first)
