I'm sure I'm not the only person with this problem because I've asked for help multiple times on different forums and always got the same group of people with the same problem. I thought getting a none BETA version of 7 would fix it but sadly, it didn't.
Heres the situation, in my room I have my PC, linked to a switch which is also linked to my Server. Nothing unusual there.
On this server I have folders for my documents / Music / Videos / Pictures. Still nothing unusual there, I access them and that's fine. However, what I want to do is have the start menu links of 'Documents', 'Pictures', Music' and an additional 'Videos' link to these folders on my server. Unfortunately though, when I try to 'include' these folders, I get the error telling me the folders must be indexed. Windows recommends making them available offline, in essence creating a copy of them locally, which renders network storage completely useless in this situation.
Another possibility is to mess around with Windows file and printer sharing, but I really don't want to go into that, I just want basic shortcuts on my start menu, but this indexing problem is killing me.
