I created a network between the home computers - 1 desktop and 3 laptops. This was so we could share files between us all; we all had a file share folder on our desktops where we would drop our shared files.

Our desktop has died and now no pc can access the file share folder.

I have the copied the dead pc harddrive, but i cannot locate any of the files that were in the file share folder at the time of the desktops death :(

I'm tired and struggling to get my head around this - lol!

If the desktop you created the original folder on is the one that died then they're likely gone if you can't see any files.

The files never existed on all the computers. You were just remotely looking at, and copy to, that folder on the main computer.

If those files are gone from that computer, and weren't being backed up, you've likely lost them for good. Unless you've done something else equally as... naive?

Of course, it could just be you're looking in the wrong place on the recovered hard drive from the broken desktop.

Check in \users\roymi6\desktop or \users\roymi6\my documents\desktop

Or something to that effect.

EDIT: writing replies on a phone takes far too long! :D
