Network gurus - weird printer prob

OK, we have two printers at work both available for everybody on the network. First printer is the general office printer/fax/copier, second printer is a large format colour printer that is attached to my PC via USB. All has been working fine since we got the colour printer over a year ago.

Then yesterday one of our guys couldn't print to the colour printer. It showed up on his PC but said it was offline. He removed the printer and re-detected it, and now it shows as online and ready to go. Great we thought. However, when he now tries to print to the colour printer it comes out on the office printer/copier instead! No errors or warnings - his machine thinks everything is just fine and dandy.

We tried on another guy's PC and the same thing happens. Nobody has touched the server recently, so no network settings or permissions have changed.

The only thing that has changed is that I removed the network cable from the colour printer briefly while moving some office furniture around. Could that have totally confused the network in some way? Are there any settings that I should be checking?

Thanks!
