'Network' icon missing options?

Hi,

Have encountered a strange problem regarding forwarding ports for company of heroes.

After long experience of connection problems with this game i stumbled upon a method that fixed it by going :

start > computer > network (in left pane) then right clicking on the router and left clicking on properties. from here it would allow me to open the ports i wanted and for it to actually work in game.

Strangely today when i follow that path (i have to re-enter the ports after the modem gets switched off and on again) and click on properties, a single (tabless) box pops which only gives a link to the router's setup page. Can anyone explain this and how to change it back to be able to add ports again?

*important note* opening ports either in the router's page or in windows firewall has never let me connect to automatch in CoH, i've only ever been able to play by following the sequence two paragraphs above.
