How do I find my network key ?
I am trying to setup a wireless network so my sister can get online via her laptop and my connection. Finally making headway and got the Thomson Speedtouch 585(i) 6 wireless setup and recognised. Unfortunately I set up a secure connection and need the Network Key for her to log on.

Thanks a bald man !!!!!

Unless you kept a note of it, you can't (easily), unless the router's web interface shows it.
Change it, and this time remember what it is?

In that case i need help with getting into the Thomson web interface. As I don't know how to, thier instructions are a bit lacking. :(

Stick the router's IP into your browser. It'll probably ask for a username and password, which'll either be the defaults (read the manual) or what it's been set to.

Networking novice here, should have said sorry.
I have managed to get the laptop connected but it can't get online due to it getting an error page from the Thomson router.

At the minute my setup is main pc connected to said router, plus my Voyager 105 usb modem as i have never been able to get a router to sync on my line, currently working on sorting this but hopes are not high. the laptop can now see and is connected to the wireless network but cannot surf the net.

You'd need to use a machine that's working just now...

What error?

For the router to get to the internet, you'd need to run ICS on the main PC or connect the router in place of the USB modem.

I've tried ICS and no joy but will give it a go later again, and as for connecting via the router have never got one to sync on my line.

Need food and something non pc for an hour or two.

Thanks

You'd need to disable DHCP on the router, and you'd need the ICS machine to be on for the laptop to get to the internet.
