Howdy.

Since adding the Firewalla Gold SE I need to alter LAN 3 on the device in order to access my Router. There is a guide to do this. Given that my Router only has one port I think I'll need to add another small unmanaged switch to allow me to create the management interface and connect it all together. Does the below look correct?

Up until now I've been using Nebula cloud to just remote back to the 5G Router for when I need to do things (mainly when I was turning off DHCP, NAT, Firewall, etc). Tonight though brought to light the flaw in my plan. My router dropped from 5G to 4G. Usually I go and toggle the 4G/5G slider off and on to get it to reconnect. Of course, I lost my remote access as soon as I toggled it off. Who would have thought it! hah. So I think I need to just do the right thing and setup the WAN Management interface on port 3 and assign a static IP for 192.168.1.x. :)

Thanks.

You shouldn’t need a WAN management interface. If you’re accessing the local IP of your 5G then it’s no different to going to any other website IP - just your firewalla may not be sending the LAN destined packets up its WAN (which you’d actually want it to do this in most situations).

Check your firewall logs to see if it’s dropping.
