Hey,

I've been experiencing problems with laptops on my wireless network.
I currently have a domain set up which until now have had only desktops which are hard wired. After introducing laptops to use as well as the desktops, I have problems connection to the domain using the wireless.

The problem started after installing SP3 for XP Pro. The wireless cards on the laptops don’t seem to initialise for the users to be able to log in.
This problem seems to occur with all types of laptops, whether Acer, Dell or RM. I have tried different wireless adaptors from Netgears to D-Link. Domain not available always appears.

If anyone has any idea what could be the problem. I have over 100 laptops which I cannot update to SP3 because every time I do, my users can not log in.

:(

I have a small domain at home and some of my laptops are on SP3, they seem to be ok logging in to roaming accounts (although if you log in straight away then it doesnt work, I have to wait a while for it to pick up my network).

Have you tried giving it a minute or 2 before logging in?

Since SP3 has the windows firewall turned itself "ON" on your wireless adapter? If so that can be a pain in the backside sometimes.

Next thing you might want to do, is see where the delay is occuring. Does it happen when "Applying personal settings...." or "Applying computer settings.." etc?
