Network management software over VPN

Hi all,
I need some software that will allow me to monitor and manage remote networks, via VPN.

The tasks I need to achieve include:
- Checking if Windows is up-to-date
- Checking Anti-Virus is up-to-date
- Remote control individual PC's
- Gather specification info on the PC (what software is installed, what hardware is in use)

Can anyone suggest something to do this? I've heard GoverLan mentioned a few times, but have never found anything to suggest it will work over VPN.

Any thoughts?

CA have a suite of products that do that sort of job. The fact its over a VPN should be irrelevant generally except if its a remote access VPN rather than a site to site VPN.

Well, it will be an IT support VPN - connecting one PC to a remote LAN. Just had a look on the CA website, but can't see anything obvious in the massive list of products.
