Ok, have two issues here.. On Windows XP Pro SP2.
First is that My Network places locks up when I open it and click "view workgroup computers". It'll lock up for 2-3 minutes and then show the computers on the network. From then on browsing and accessing files on other computers works without fail.
I just tried it again now and it's telling me that "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact admin blah blah etc etc" This doesn't normally happen.
I haven't changed any settings with windows and i'm running an admin account. Windows firewall is off(disabled as a service), no other firewalls are installed. There's just my hardware firewall on my billion router working, but this 2-3 minute delay issue was there on my previous netgear router(plus happens at my friends house when i'm on his LAN).
Does anyone know how to remove this delay from browsing workgroup machines?
Second issue is that Sharing Folders in Windows Live Messenger 8.1 wont sync with any other user ive tried it with. It'll say its attempting to sync and then will time out 1-2 minutes later. I have a Vista dual boot and sharing folders work fine within Vista, so It cant be a router issue i'd imagine..
Have I accidentally disabled some services that I need to fix these two issues?
